Saturday morning my alarm went off (phone) and I rolled over to shut it up to learn that what I was getting up for had been canceled. Hooray!
As Adam and I are laying in bed, I'm telling him, "The Relay for Life Fundraiser/Sortin' was called off". Thinking.... i get to sleep longer. Yippee!
5 minutes later Adam whispers "wanna go down and see Granny!?"
Since I'm such a great wife I say "for real!?" "ya", he says. "We really need to go see her. It's been a few months and we don't have a free weekend until the middle of May!" We need to go.
We jump up, throw some clothes in a bag (i forgot my toothbrush) and jump in the car. We took Sadie since it was such a last minute type of deal and decided we didn't want to put anyone out by throwing her at someone with such short notice.
Blah. Blah. Blah.
We pull up to the care center to find Granny decked out in metals, ribbons, a visor with her name painted across the top of it, a pom pom and her walker is covered in streamers.... wow! Definitely one of the greatest things I had seen in a long time.
I had to laugh out loud.
P.s. She won a metal for racing with her walker! That's right!!
